Albuquerque's city council rejected a bill proposing a 100-foot buffer zone between new short-term rentals, aiming to address neighborhood impacts and housing affordability concerns. Despite an amendment reducing the proposed distance, the measure failed by a 5-4 vote, similar to failed attempts in previous years. Over half of the city's renters are cost-burdened.
