The Village of Newberry has no dedicated short-term rental ordinance or permit system. STRs are currently unregulated at the municipal level, though Michigan state-level taxes still apply.

To host an Airbnb in the Village of Newberry, you do not currently need a specific city permit. Because there is no local short-term rental law, you should follow general safety guidelines and ensure your property isn't classified as a commercial 'Bed and Breakfast' which does require a permit under Section 15.11 of the Zoning Code. You must still pay the state-level 6% Use Tax on all bookings under 30 days.
